Description
"As people, animals, and even plants all over the world face environmental changes-rising sea levels, droughts, frequent and intense hurricanes and floods, and more-our cities must adapt. But what does it mean for a city to be "green"? And can cities be rethought to not only fight climate change, but to become more sustainable, fair, and welcoming to everyone? From the living roofs of Singapore to Holland's floating parks made of recycled trash, and innovative environmental efforts like transforming the Chicago River and saving the sinking city of Venice, cities around the world have much to teach us. In Our Cities Depend on Us, author-illustrator and trained architect Victoria Tentler-Krylov empowers readers to take action against climate change and help reimagine our planet-so that every city can protect its history and its future"--
