Estimating is an integral part of the construction process, and may be performed at various stages of a project. Conceptual estimates are general in nature, and require the least amount of data. They are used to determine the feasibility of a project. Design Development estimates require up to 40% of documentation to be complete, and thus provide a partial picture of total project costs. Construction Estimating focuses on Detail Takeoff estimates.
