is an incisive and bold critique of America’s deep-rooted misogyny. With this novel, Bischoff examines the narratives we tell ourselves, and what happens when we co-opt others into those stories; and she probes the blurred lines between victim and perpetrator and the true meaning of justice. Sash Bischoff is a writer and theater director. She has written plays that have been developed at theaters throughout the US. As a director, she has worked on Broadway and off. is her first novel. Sheila Kohler is the author of many novels, volumes of short fiction, essays, and a memoir. Her most recent novel is Open Secrets. She has won numerous prizes, including the O.Henry twice, and her work has been included in The Best American Short Stories and Best American Mystery Stories.

She has taught at Columbia, Sarah Lawrence, Bennington and at Princeton since 2007. She will be writer in residence at the American library in Paris in 2025.
