In advance of the opening of McCarter Theatre Center’s production of Edith Wharton’s The Age of Innocence, adapted by Douglas McGrath, McCarter is partnering with Labyrinth Books and the Princeton Public Library to offer a pop-up book club event to celebrate and explore the novel. This will be great opportunity to meet and engage with our local community of readers, to learn a bit about Edith Wharton’s life and career, and to discuss the reader’s experience of her remarkable Pulitzer Prize-winning work of literature before seeing it brought to life on stage.
This event will also feature Edith Wharton scholar Prof. Meredith L. Goldsmith of Ursinus College, who will add to our appreciation of Wharton’s literary craft, and our understanding of the historical contexts of both the period in which it was written and the period upon which it reflects.
REGISTER HERE for the event; it is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
